Just a quick heads-up.

Avarthrel.org and the blogs on beastwithin.org use Piwik for statistics. I’m hosting it locally on avarthrel.org, and all usage data is stored there.

Previously I stored all usage data and my only real concession for privacy was the by-default support for Do Not Track, but now I’ve set up the thing to give the visitors more privacy. To wit, I now have an opt-out widget in the privacy policy page, I’m deleting detailed logs after 6 months, and I only store IP addresses up to 3 octets (in other words, if you’re at 192.168.22.33, I only see 192.168.22.xxx in my logs).

All of this is relatively easy to set up in Piwik, so I can heartily recommend this web analytics package to everyone.
